We’re close to the city and close to the causes that matter to our city
At Belfast City Airport, community is at the heart of everything we do, and we remain dedicated to making a positive impact by supporting local projects that strengthen our vibrant local community.
About the Community Fund
We launched the Community Fund in February 2009, and since then, we've donated over £780,000 to local projects.
We believe in being a good neighbour, engaging directly with the local community to identify projects and initiatives that can benefit from our support. Our Community Fund helps schools, sports teams, community centres, choirs, educational campaigns, and exciting event programmes thrive.
Community Fund Projects
Since 2009, our Community Fund has powered over 262 projects.
“Many disabled young people leave education and find themselves in a sort of limbo. All Doors Open was created to change this by creating a place and purpose for our participants and helping them to develop the skills that will allow them to fully take part in the life of their communities. The support we received from Belfast City Airport has been invaluable, in fact, it very much saved a fledging programme, so we are thrilled to have been able to deliver the initiative this year and to be making a real difference with the Airport’s help.” - Grainne Woods, Kids In Control – Community Fund Recipient
Charity Partner
We partner with a local charity that has a real impact in our community. This year we are proudly supporting White Ribbon NI
White Ribbon NI supports the global movement working to end violence against women and girls. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, White Ribbon NI aims to create lasting cultural change, leading to a society free from violence and fear.
As part of the partnership, our team members will take part in and organise a range of fundraising activities and host educational sessions for staff, raising awareness of White Ribbon NI and the work needed to create a culture of respect and equality where all can thrive.
Working Together
In addition to our Community Fund and Charity Partner of the Year, we regularly collaborate with local charities and organisations on smaller, ad-hoc activities. These can include in-terminal collections and charitable donations.
